More than 50% of ad-driven online magazines are profitable
TechDirt points to the survey, conducted by International Federation of the Periodical Press, which found that more than 50% of online magazines are actually profitable, driven only by advertising. 17% were losing money in 2005 survey, which was better than 38%, reported by 2003 survey. About 67% of consumer magazine Web site revenues came from display advertising. The rest was from sponsorship, e-commerce, subscriptions and syndication.
