Internet porn is a $2.5 bln industry
MediaPost Online Spin publishes detailed data on US porn industry citing Internet Filter Pornography Statistics. The industry revenues are $57 bln global, $12 bln in the US. Adult videos generate $20 bln out of that and escort services bring $11 bln. Cable/pay-per-view television and Internet both bring $2.5 more bln. CD-ROM sales are at $1.5 bln annually. 4.2 mln Internet sites peddle porn, and they contain 372 mln images. 72 mln unique visitors visit porn sites over the span of 12 months.
