$346 bln of stock buybacks in Q1-Q3 2005
According to TrimTabs Investment Research, the total amount of buybacks announced by US companies in 2005 through October hit $346 bln, up 51% from the same period in 2004. Thomson Financial says 2005 marks the largest year for corporate stock buybacks since the heady days of the late 1990s.
