Broadband by world region: Asia-Pacific - 42%, EMEA - 30%, Americas - 28%
By the end of Q2 2005 Asia-Pacific region was home to 42% of broadband lines, EMEA was second with 30% and Americas were third with 28%. Asia Pacific added 4.3 mln lines in Q2 2005, making a total of 8.6 mln lines added between 31 Dec 2004 and 30 June 2005, and is still by far the biggest region its share of the world total fell by 1% since end-2004 to 42%. The share of the Americas also fell, dropping by 1% to 28%. But EMEA proved the leading region, adding 9.5 mln lines in the first half of 2005 to achieve a 30% share of world broadband lines, Point Topic reports.
