Online maps market: MapQuest - 71%, Yahoo! Maps - 32%, Google Maps - 25%
While the number of US Internet users has grown 7% in the in 2004, the number going to mapping sites leaped 33% to 51.3 mln, according to comScore. ComScore divides online maps market between MapQuest with 71% share in September 2005 and roughly even from a year ago, Yahoo maps with 32%, and also about the same as in 2004, and Google Maps with 25% share. The numbers do not add up to 100% because some people visit multiple sites.
