quickcustomizemenu.jpgJensen Harris, Microsoft’s prominent UI blogger, announced a new enhancement to the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) in Office 2007 called the Quick Customize menu. This new drop-down menu contains one-click links to add the most commonly-used commands in each of the ribbon-enabled Office 2007 applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and parts of Outlook) to the QAT. The QAT can either site above the ribbon next to the Office (File) menu button or be displayed as a full-width strip below the ribbon. The new feature, along with the auto-hide ribbon feature I wrote about a few weeks ago, will be released as part of the forthcoming Beta 2 Technical Refresh.
