Andy Abramson on Working Anywhere

In my work at Foldera, I've had the great fortune to get to know and work with Andy Abramson. If you have any serious interest in VoIP and mobile technologies, you probably have his VoIP Watch blog in your aggregator. Andy has just announced a new project called Working Anywhere that is completely in sync with my interest in how increasingly ubiquitous broadband connectivity, mobile technology tools, and virtual or distributed teams are changing our notions about work.

As most of the work Andy and I do together is accomplished virtually using these tools. I can attest to his mastery of a Working Anywhere methodology. Using technologies like SightSpeed, he's pulled real-time meetings together with teams of professionals around the country (or the world) as needed to address the specific requirements of the project we're collaborating on – getting Foldera ready for launch. He, Oliver Starr, and I have been criss-crossing the Atlantice for the past month but have managed to leverage a readily accessible and very affordable set of tools and broadband connections to maintain progress.

It will be very interesting and, I'm sure, enlightening to read his thoughts on how succeed in the new world of work.

Marc Orchant has been building, testing, and sometimes breaking hardware and software for 25 years. See his full profile and disclosure of his industry affiliations.
