Critical flaw in D-Link wireless USB adapter
First it was Intel, then Apple, and then Broadcom. The wireless flaws just keep coming and D-Link is the next culprit with a critical overflow in its wireless USB adapter that can lead to kernel-mode code execution. The flaw resides in version 1.0.1.41 of the driver file A5AGU.SYS and was tested with the DWL-G132 Wireless USB adapter.
[UPDATE 11/17/2006] D-Link doesn't provide an updated driver for the DWL-G132, but it does provide an updated driver for the WUA-2340. If you own the WUA-2340, install the latest driver. If you own the DWL-G132, you can install the drivers from the WUA-2340. Windows will complain about the driver but you can force the install using this type of procedure. D-Link has just informed me that they released updated drivers for the DWL-G132 here.
