Two large batches of patches were released today for Apple’s QuickTime and Mac OS X products.  QuickTime had 12 critical vulnerabilities and OS X had 26 critical vulnerabilities

The OS X vulnerabilities included a wide range of components from AppKit to Mail to Safari so it’s highly recommended that people update their Macs over the weekend.  The QuickTime vulnerabilities are cross platform and can affect Mac and even Windows systems if QuickTime is installed.  A wide range of malformed image formats and QuickTime video files can crash QuickTime or even take over the entire computer.
