Amazon goes podcast promotion

Amazon has hired Bill Maher, formerly of Politically Incorrect, to host a show that promotes new music, film and books.

It purportedly will be live, according to the Wall Street Journal (why live? that’s way more expensive to produce), though the story contradicts this saying that the first show is being filmed now for a January 24 launch. Amazon Fishbowl with Bill Maher will be 30 minutes long each month.

About time—this is a slam-dunk obvious choice for the online commerce giant. Product placement without any holds barred. When do you think you’ll be able to click the clothes on Maher’s back to buy them?
