Most of the news yesterday was dominated by the Zune and Wii announcements (both look really cool), but I do have a couple of items.
- Dan Farber here on ZDNet has a roundup of Michael Arrington’s winners and losers for the web. During the talk, Arrington mentioned Adobe’s Apollo, something regular readers know I’m very interested in. It’s great to see the wider tech audience take notice of RIAs and the technologies that are bridging the gap between the desktop and the web.
- John Dowdell notes that by the time the next version of the Flash IDE ships, Flash Player 9 will have a lot of penetration meaning that developers and designers can jump right in. That’s going to be a compelling argument for using Flash.
- Finally, Sean Callan pointed me to a movie about Microsoft’s "Crossbow". Crossbow is the codename for the interoperability between Windows Presentation Foundation and Windows Forms. Traditionally, Windows Forms have been enterprise developers method for building a UI. But with WPF, they can tie into that functionality and build on it with WPF technology. That is going to mean some very cool, updated interfaces for enterprises using Microsoft software.
