Samsung Rugby put to the extreme at the Renaissance FaireWhile most of the phones I use now are higher end smartphones, there are also some very compelling feature phones out there that you may want to consider. A few weeks ago, AT&T and Samsung announced the ruggedized Rugby (a837) military-grade handset. My buddy Michael just posted a very entertaining video of the Rugby put under some extreme conditions over at Mobile Burn.

The Samsung a837 Rugby phone is also the first rugged handset to use AT&T’s Video Share calling service (video calling) so field workers can capture and share video live with others on site or in the office. The Rugby comes in black, deep burgundy, and yellow in a clamshell form factor. It has a 1.3 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, microSD card slot, and 3G. Napster Mobile is also supported so you can load music on the microSD card.

You can order one now at AT&T for US$129.99 after rebate and two-year contract.
