T-Mobile BlackBerry Flip 8220 now availableThe BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220 (aka Kickstart) was announced a short while ago and today I received the press release announcing that T-Mobile customers can now pick up the T-Mobile BlackBerry Pearl Flip in black color for US$149.99 after US$150 instant discount and US$50 mail-in rebate (full price is US$349.99).

The U.S. is known for their preference for the flip phone form factor and this is the first RIM BlackBerry device to use this form factor. It will be interesting to see how well this does because it is definitely a unique design for RIM. The Pearl Flip 8220 is quite a powerful device with support for T-Mobile’s UMA HotSpot service via WiFi. The device also has a 2.0 megapixel camera with flash and video capture support, Bluetooth radio with A2DP support, 3.5mm headset jack, SureType keyboard, 2.4 inch 320×240 display on the inside and a 128×160 outer display, 128MB flash memory and microSD/SDHC card slot.
