BlackBerry Desktop for Mac coming soon, walk-through posted
While Windows is still the dominant operating system for people’s computers, the Mac OS X community continues to grow and can’t be ignored by the mobile operating system creators. Third parties, such as PocketMac and Mark/Space, have developed solutions to sync mobile devices with Apple computers. These solutions are often even more powerful than native solutions, if there are any, but it is great to see mobile companies create and roll out these solutions. RIM has a BlackBerry Desktop for Mac that is getting closer and closer to release. You can check out lots of details and screenshots of this solution on the Inside BlackBerry blog.
One of the major features in this desktop software is the ability to select whether or not the connected BlackBerry device syncs with one or multiple computers. Since I use a Mac at home and a PC at work, this can be a very important feature. Firmware updates, application installation and content syncing are all supported with this Mac client.
