RIM now accepting submittals for its BlackBerry application storefrontLast year RIM announced a $150 million development fund and then we heard about an upcoming BlackBerry application storefront. RIM just sent a notice to developers that they are now accepting applications for this new storefront so if you are a developer check out the Vendor Portal and get your application in. RIM will contact you regarding the results of their evaluation and the next steps to take.

We don’t know when the BlackBerry application storefront will go live yet, but there are more and more consumer-friendly BlackBerry devices being released regularly and the potential for selling a large number of applications is definitely present. There are millions of BlackBerry users today and I think the mobile market will support having BlackBerry devices for years. Having an easy-to-use on device application store is key to people discovering and using 3rd party applications.
