Canon releases two new camcorders: iVIS HF21 & iVIS HF S11

Canon Japan announced the upcoming release of two new camcorders: the iVIS HF21and iVIS HF S11.

The iVIS HF21 is a compact model with full HD recording capability, an optical zoom up to 15x and a 1/4in CMOS sensor. This model also includes new “underwater” and “floating” modes. The higher-end iVIS HF S11 comes with a 1/2.06in CMOS sensor capable of up to 8-megapixel stills, an optical zoom up to 10x, and new shooting modes including nighttime and ‘dynamic’ stabilization mode.

Both cameras include SDHC card slots, 64 GB of internal memory, face detection and utilize Canon’s signature DIGIC DV III Video processor.

There hasn’t been an official announcement on pricing, but the estimated release date for both models is some time in August.
