Canon introduces new VIXIA HD digital camcorder
Along with the new digital cameras, Canon is releasing a new VIXIA model: the Canon VIXIA HF-S11 Dual Flash Memory camcorder. Intended to be a new “flagship camcorder model” for the company, the HD recorder is geared towards more advanced users, with an 8.59 megapixel Full HD CMOS Image Sensor and Canon DIGIC DV III Image Processor. It can record up to 24 hours to a 64GB internal flash drive or more to removable SDHC memory cards. Additional features include instant auto focus, face detection and the ability to record in 24p Cinema Mode or 30p Progressive Mode. Customers also have the option of picking up a Canon RA-V1 Remote Control Adapter accessory for controlling camcorder functions, especially useful when attached to a tripod.
The VIXIA HF-S11 will be released in September, with an estimated retail price of $1,499. You can get the remote for an extra $120.
