15 online photo apps compared: image editing on the cheap

Can’t afford to plunk down $700 for Adobe Photoshop? Don’t want to spend $100 on Elements? Just don’t want to waste space on your hard drive for image editing you only need every once in a while?  An online photo editor might just be the ticket. These Web-based applications let you upload your image, perform most of the common photo-editing tasks you need right in your Web browser, and then save your work, without requiring you to download or install any software.  And best of all, most of them are free. So how do you pick from among the slew of online photo apps out there?  Our sister site CNET Webware has compiled a chart of the 15 options available on the Net, comparing how much each service costs, how large of a photo file you can upload, and a short blurb on what differentiates each app. It would have been nice to see a more extensive features comparison, but just having the comprehensive list of available Web apps (and links to the services themselves) is pretty useful.
