Did you know that print costs typically consume 3% of total revenue for businesses today? I didn’t either, but thanks to a tip from my friends at Ricoh, Doc got an advanced preview of a free, new white paper that you can download now. It’s an eye opener, as strong as my usual morning concoction.

The paper, titled “Managed Print Services and Beyond,” looks at the high costs of uncontrolled print services and how they can be addressed while enabling greater visibility, control, and opportunity.

For many organizations, printing costs are nearly equivalent to the amount spent on research and development each year! According to the Photizo Group, a recognized thought leader in print services management, hardcopy costs are the last bastion of uncontrolled spending within organizations today, regardless of industry. But times are changing.

Companies are discovering that better management of printing activities can significantly lower costs and have a positive impact. Managed Print Services (MPS), when extended to include electronic document management and workflow solutions, offer an opportunity for companies to eliminate up to 30 percent of their total print costs, increase employee productivity by enabling faster, paperless processes, and significantly reduce the environmental impact of their business.

The free white paper provides an overview of the real costs of hardcopy printing today, exposing both hidden costs and lost opportunities to improve productivity and minimize environmental impacts. It then explores the many advantages of MPS and explains what a typical engagement involves. And finally, it provides helpful information on how to get started with MPS and what to look for in an MPS partner.

Doc's Biography

ZDNet and TechRepublic introduce Doc (The DocuMentor), sponsored by RICOH. Doc will educate you about Document Management.

Doc was born to a Russian ballerina and a German engineer, who some believe was running covert operations for shadowy corporate interests. At MIT, Doc made a name for himself by transforming a large printer into a robot that hunts and eats Roombas.

Professionally, he’s reportedly seen the insides of more brands, versions, and generations of printer and printer-related hardware than almost anyone. Doc’s mastery of document management leaves no stone unturned; and he has vast knowledge regarding sustainability, security, regulatory compliance, networking, and IT services.
