Countdown - 10 social media lessons learned
Aaron Strout, best known as the vice president of social media for Mzinga (and soon-to-be head of marketing for Powered), took a creative spin today on Twitter when he counted down to 10,000 tweets with his top 10 social media lessons learned. Here’s a quick sample of some of my favorites:
- 10 - Don’t break your arm patting yourself on the back. It may make you feel good but others won’t appreciate it.
- 6 - When you read blogs, don’t just follow the big A-listers. Some of my faves are http://scottmonty.com and http://www.thesocialorganization.com
- 3 - As @scobleizer reminded me, make your content count. See this post for more details - http://is.gd/3dMG
- 2 - As important as online social networking is, OFFLINE is equally, if not MORE important. Make a point of meeting people in person.
The full list — absolutely worth a read — can be found on Strout’s blog.
