It’s about that time to gear up for Web 2.0 Expo (#w2e) next Tuesday through Friday at Moscone West in San Francisco. I am excited about the content that TechWeb / O’Reilly Media, Inc., has produced and I have put together the following schedule for myself. Why should you care? Well, if you read my blog you know I write about social business. I’ve picked out the sessions I think are most in line with what I need to learn to keep providing solid info to you, dear readers, and would love it if you’d join me. Here are the places I am going to try to be:

Tuesday, March 31 (Workshops)

Economics 2.0: Highly Effective Strategies for Putting Your Business on a Recession Diet
Dion Hinchcliffe (Hinchcliffe & Company)

Beyond Buzz: On Measuring a Conversation
Kate Niederhoffer (Dachis Corporation), Marc Smith (Telligent Systems)
10:50 a.m.

The Web Just Got a Little More Dangerous
Jeremiah Grossman (WhiteHat Security, Inc.)
1:30 p.m.

Case Study: Setting Content Free at Ford Motor Company
Maggie Fox (Social Media Group), Scott Monty (Ford Motor Company)
1:30 p.m.

Best Practices in Social Media Integration for Web Publishers and Content Providers
Bob Buch (Digg)
2:40 p.m.

Unfortunately I’ll only be at the event Tuesday and Wednesday as I’m traveling at the end of the week (quick pre-happy-retirement-party shout-out to my mother, who worked hard for 35 years!), but here’s a list of the sessions I would attend if I could:

Thursday, April 2

Enterprise Web 2.0 Anti-Patterns, ROI and Metrics

Don’t have a full conference pass? You can still get a free Expo Pass and get access to all kinds of events. You can even kick in a little for an Expo Plus pass to also attend two sessions of your choice. Not enough? Use this special discount code for my lovely readers to save 30 percent on your registration: websf09trt10.

Finally, one of the most positive things that has struck me about the organization of this conference more than any other is the community piece. Even with all of SXSWi’s fancy pre-planning tools there was hardly a human element. Janetti Chon, community manager for Web 2.0, has done an amazing job keeping people in the loop on the goings on of the conference and she’s the reason I have all of this good info to share. If you go and run into her, please tell her “thanks!”

Here is my Web 2.0 Expo Attendee Network Profile and a link to my downloadable schedule (includes the recommended sessions I cannot attend). Add me as a contact and I’ll add you back. See you there!
