MSI has announced its U110 “ECO” netbook with a promised battery life of up to nine hours.

The U110 is only 1.3 inches thick and weighs just 2.2 lbs. when using a three cell battery. The six cell battery is where you’ll get the nine-hour battery life, but it’s a safe assumption that the netbook will still weigh in under 3 lbs.

Inside, the U110 packs an Intel Atom Z530 (Menlow) platform with a 1.6GHz CPU, 10-inch (1024×600) display, 160GB hard drive and 1GB of RAM.

Interestingly, the U110 uses an ATI Radeon HD3200 graphics card, which has its own video decoder, thuis allowing for HD video playback and some middle-of-the-road gaming.
