Nintendo DSi to arrive on U.S. shores this Sunday, April 5
Reminder: Nintendo’s latest hardware revision of their DS handheld system, the Nintendo DSi, is coming to American store shelves this Sunday, April 5.
The DSi is an updated DS portable that plays the same DS games as the original DS and DS Lite. The first DS revision, the DS Lite, arrived in 2006, and the latest revision, the DSi, started shipping in Japan on November 1, 2008.
The new DSi features:
- Textured finish
- Thinner, but slightly longer and wider than the DS
- New SD memory card slot (in addition to 256MB system memory)
- Voice recording and audio playback
- 3.25-in. screens, 0.25 in. more than DS
- 840mAh battery (DS Lite: 1000mAh), resulting in 3-4 hours life
- Two built-in cameras at 640×480
- No need to power system off to swap games
- Will retail for $169.99
