Leaked memo reveals T-Mobile 3G expansion plans in 40+ U.S. cities
I don’t like to dabble too much in unconfirmed rumors, but “unofficial” T-Mobile blog TmoNews has what appears to be an internal T-Mobile e-mail outlining 3G expansion plans for the fourth-largest carrier in America in several medium and large U.S. cities in the coming year.
The list includes the following:
April: Shreveport, La.; Lubbock, Texas; Wichita Falls, Texas.
June: Henderson, Nev.; Tucson, Ariz.; Mesa, Ariz.; Scottsdale, Ariz.; Peoria, Ariz.; Colorado Springs, Colo.; Pueblo, Colo.; Daytona Beach, Fla.; Des Moines, Iowa; Eugene, Ore.; Salem, Ore.; Columbus, Ohio; Springfield, Mass.; Manchester, NH; Portland, Maine; Brownsville, Texas; Corpus Christi, Texas; Laredo, Texas; McAllen, Texas.
Q3 2009: Little Rock, Ark.; Hartford, Conn.; Wichita, Kansas; Charlotte, NC; Albuquerque, NM; Omaha, Neb.; Rochester, NY; Cleveland, Ohio; Nashville, Tenn.; El Paso, Tex.; Salt Lake City, Utah; Spokane, Wash.; Milwaukee, Minn. and more.
Q4 2009: Honolulu, Hawaii; Mobile, Ala.; Jacksonville, Fla.; Lousiville, Ky,; Oklahoma City, Ok.; Pittsburgh, Pa. and more.
Given T-Mobile’s plans, that means that Google Android (and the T-Mobile G1 smartphone) are invading. [via]
