The rumors are flying about a new iPhone, and every day there seems to be more and more evidence that hints to those rumors being true. According to PhoneNews.com, Apple advised Apple authorized resellers to begin putting both the Apple Composite AV Cable and the Apple Component AV Cable on clearance. PhoneNews.com has learned that Apple will be consolidating these cables, ahead of the launch of the next iPhone

The new AV cables  are said to combine both composite, and component into one cable. Right now, you have to buy two separate cables, but this will allow for both SD and HDTV hook up without buying two sets of cables.

PhoneNews says the new iPhones will have even higher resolution screens, competing with Microsoft’s Zune HD, as well as HTC’s Touch HD and Touch Pro2. Right now, the iPhone and iPod touch max out at 480i and 480p, respectively, in terms of video resolution. The new iPhone and iPod touch are said to have full HD playback, with 720p and 1080i output modes.

In addition to the iPhone AV cables, AT&T just started selling refurbished 16GB iPhone 3Gs for just $149. CNET’s Rick Broida recommends buying an iPhone now.

“Given that you’ll be able to upgrade this model to OS 3.0 in a couple months, I say hop. I’d be very, very surprised if the hardware price ever gets lower than this.”

Are these actually signs of a new iPhone coming? Only time will tell. Stay tuned.
