Samsung unveils I7500 Android smartphone with AMOLED
Samsung today unveiled the I7500, its first Android-powered mobile phone and one of the first since the T-Mobile G1 made by HTC launched a year ago.
The Samsung I7500 features a 3.2-in. AMOLED full touch screen and 7.2Mbps HSDPA and WiFi connectivity, as well as all the Google goodness associated with Android (Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Android Market, gCal, gTalk, etc.).
The device has an integrated GPS receiver, a 5-megapixel camera and supports “various multimedia codec formats,” specified below. The battery out back is 1500mAh and memory tops off at 40GB (8GB internal, 32GB external via microSD). And the whole device is 11.9 mm thick.
Will the hardware match the software? We’ll see soon. The Samsung I7500 will be available in major European countries in June 2009.
