Those slinky sources of Engadget Mobile’s have provided the site with an “in the wild” picture of what the site calls the “BlackBerry Onyx,” a smartphone that takes the Bold’s original lines and kicks them up a notch, so to speak:

The device is rumored to be a 3G-enabled GSM BlackBerry heading for AT&T, with a similar UMA-enabled sister phone (”Driftwood”) going to T-Mobile.

Back in March, Crackberry reported on a rumored touchscreen BlackBerry 9900, and the names “Onyx,” “Driftwood,” “Magnum” and “Pluto” have been making the Internet rounds as touchscreen/QWERTY hybrid concepts in the high-end Bold segment, while “Gemini” is the rumored successor family to the popular Curve line. Get all that?

Would you buy a QWERTY/touchscreen hybrid BlackBerry? Tell us in TalkBack.
