Shure on Tuesday introduced three new professional headphone models, the company’s first over-the-ear models designed for studio applications.

The SRH840, SRH440, and SRH240 are designed for studio engineers and musicians, but their arrival marks their availability to the wider consumer market. Shure says the new models “achieve a masterful balance between comfort, durability, and rich lows, warm mids, and crisp highs,” but you’ll have to listen for yourself to see if they meet your needs.

The pro models are of a closed-back, circumaural design, and are distinguished thusly:

  • SRH840: Optimized for studio recording and critical listening. Features reference-quality frequency response, rich bass, clear mid-range, and extended highs. Collapsible construction. Price: $199.
  • SRH440: Tuned to deliver accurate audio reproduction. Optimized for professional audio equipment, including DJ mixers, mixing consoles, and headphone amplifiers. Adjustable headband and collapsible construction. Price: $99.99.
  • SRH240: Calibrated for connection to consumer listening devices and professional equipment such as mixing consoles. Reproduces full bass with detailed highs. Price: $59.99.

All three models will be available to consumers this summer with a two-year limited warranty.
