Logitech unveils seven new webcams; HD, Zeiss optics, $29-$99

On the heels of the announcement of Vid, streamlined videoconferencing software, Logitech on Wednesday unveiled seven new webcams.

The new webcams, designed to work with Vid (of course), are the following:

  • Logitech Webcam Pro 9000
  • Logitech Portable Webcam C905
  • Logitech Webcam C600
  • Logitech Webcam C500
  • Logitech Webcam C300
  • Logitech Webcam C250
  • Logitech Webcam C200

A breakdown of the webcams are as follow:

Premium Webcams: Logitech Webcam Pro 9000, Logitech Portable Webcam C905
The Logitech Webcam Pro 9000 offers Zeiss optics with autofocus and a 2-megapixel HD sensor for video up to 720p and snapshots at up to 8 megapixels. Includes Logitech RightLight 2 tech and Logitech Video Effects.

The Logitech Portable Webcam C905 is effectively a portable Webcam Pro 9000.

Mid-Range Webcams: Logitech Webcam C600, Logitech Webcam C500
The Logitech Webcam C600 delivers HD-quality video and 8-megapixel snapshots with a 2-megapixel sensor and glass lens. Captures HD video at up to 720p. Includes Logitech RightLight 2 tech.

The Logitech Webcam C500 offers a glass lens and 1.3-megapixel sensor for 5-megapixel photo capture. Includes Logitech RightLight tech and Logitech Video Effects.

Basic Webcams: Logitech Webcam C300, Logitech Webcam C250, Logitech Webcam C200

The Logitech Webcam C300 offers up to 5-megapixel photo capture and includes Logitech Video Effects Fun Filters.

The Logitech Webcam C250 features a VGA sensor, the ability to take snapshots at up to 1.3 megapixels (software enhanced), and Logitech Video Effects Fun Filters.

The Logitech Webcam C200 offers a VGA sensor and snapshots at up to 1.3 megapixels (software enhanced).

All the webcams include a built-in microphone with Logitech RightSound tech.

The webcams will retail as follows:

  • Logitech Webcam Pro 9000: $99.99 (USD)
  • Logitech Portable Webcam C905: $99.99
  • Logitech Webcam C600: $79.99
  • Logitech Webcam C500: $49.99
  • Logitech Webcam C300: $49.99
  • Logitech Webcam C250: $39.99
  • Logitech Webcam C200: $29.99

They’re expected to be available in the U.S. and Europe beginning in August.
