'The Beatles: Rock Band' premieres first in-game video
As hard as I’m trying to not get excited and pulled into the big fuss that surrounds “The Beatles: Rock Band” game, I can’t help but smile when I see the Fab Four rocking out in video game form. The first in-game video from “The Beatles: Rock Band,” which will be available for Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii, and PlayStation 3 on September 9, 2009, was released today for fans who pre-ordered the game.
The video shows the band performing the song “Birthday” in the Abbey Road Studios. The quality and the detail of the graphics are amazing. The game will take the player through the history of the Beatles, starting from small clubs in Liverpool, through the psychedelic era, and up to the “Let It Be” rooftop. The game will feature 45 songs, 25 of which have already been announced. Of course, I’m sure more will be available to download.
My only fear is that once the game comes out, and I play it for hours on end, I’ll never be able to hear those songs again without getting annoyed — much like the way I feel when I hear “Carry On My Wayward Son” by Kansas. I can’t help but cringe during the first 10 seconds of that song before the drums break in. Those of you who have played a lot of Guitar Hero and Rock Band know what I mean.
Check out the video after the jump, and let us know what you think in the comments below.
