Will you buy Bose's new QuietComfort 15 headphones?
Bose on Thursday introduced the QuietComfort 15 Acoustic Noise Cancelling headphones, what it calls “its best-performing, quietest headphones ever.”
According to the company, the new cans — which replace the QuietComfort 2 headphones — have “significant engineering advancements in active and passive noise reduction technologies,” with “more attenuation in louder environments and across a wider range of frequencies.”
The QuietComfort 15 headphones have microphones inside and outside the earcup and use a proprietary electronics system to “sense” an environment’s sound and then cancel it dynamically. With better ear cushions, Bose says more noise is blocked through the earcup, too.
The QuietComfort 15 headphones have an around-ear design and a detachable cable. A single AAA battery powers them for about 35 hours.
They’re available today for $299.95 (the QuietComfort 3 cans are still available for $349.95).
What are your experiences with noise cancellation?
Will you buy Bose’s new cans, or is it a lot of tech-speak (and cash) for not a lot of payoff?
