Chipotle iPhone app makes it too easy to order burritos

Chipotle Mexican Grill announced its new iPhone and iPod touch ordering app, which makes it way too damn easy to order an $8 burrito.

The free app, which is now available in the App Store, gives iPhone and iPod touch users the ability to craft a favorite Chipotle order, assign it to a store location of their choice, and securely pay for food direct from the device.

It’s pretty versatile, too: you can pick which fillings you want, or give specific instructions (go easy on the lettuce, or heavy on the corn.)

Let me make this clear: there are more than 80 Chipotle locations within a 30-block radius of ZDNet’s New York HQ.

And the app happily takes group orders — you know, so you can rope the whole office into it.

This could be a problem.

The app, which was built by Berkeley-based Pervasent and designed by San Francisco-based Sequence, will even save your favorite order for next time.

(Black bean, half barbacoa-half carnitas, mild and corn salsas, sour cream, cheese and guacamole burrito, in case you were wondering.)

Uh oh.

Do you pay for the app each time you use it?
Because I live in California, the price hike capital of
the world, and Chipotle burritos aren't $8 here, yet.

Or do you think everyone doubles up on the guacamole?... (Read the rest)
