CES 2009: Westinghouse's new 120HZ 1080p LCD HDTVs, LCD monitors [day 3]
Westinghouse Digital gets a bit of the short stick at CES, stuck in the shadow of such high-profile HDTV manufacturers such as Panasonic, Sony and Samsung. Still, the company’s got some new HDTVs (that, fingers crossed, I’ll be able to play with tomorrow), as well as new LCD displays from 19 to 26 inches.
Here’s what’s new:
The TX-37F510Z is a 37-inch 1080p 120HZ LCD HDTV available June or July 2009, no price noted. It supports ATSC/NTSC/CATV/Clear QAM, it’s 1080p at 1920 x 1080 resolution (5000:1 contrast ratio), claims 500 nits brightness and a 6.5 ms response time, and boasts 4 HDMI, 2 YPbPr, 2 CVBS/S, 1 VGA, and 1 SPDIF ports.
The TX-42F970Z is the 42-inch 1080p 120HZ LCD HDTV, available May or June 2009, no price noted. It also boasts WD’s Motion Estimation/Motion Compensation to reduce blur.

Also announced were the 46-inch 1080p VK-46F260S LCD HDTV, the VK-47F140S (47-inch 1080p LCD HDTV), and several smaller models.
Rounding out the announcement were the company’s new LCD computer monitors, in 19-, 20-, 22-, 24- and 26-inch sizes. For the sake of brevity, let’s take a look at the big boys:
The L2427HW is WD’s 24-inch TFT LCD display, available in March 2009 without pricing info.

- True Full HD 16:9 aspect ratio, 1920×1080 resolution
- 0.2715 x 0.2715mm pixel pitch
- High 1000:1 contrast ratio
- 300 nits high brightness

The L2635HW is WD’s 26-inch TFT LCD Monitor, available in March 2009 but without pricing info.

- Built-in stereo speakers: 1.5W x 2

So there you have it. Again, hopefully I’ll get a hands-on with some of these models tomorrow.
