CES 2009: Fujitsu's water-cooled notebook tech [day 3]
I got a chance to roll over to Fujitsu’s booth at CES and had a good chat with them about the upcoming tech they have in the pipeline that hasn’t yet reached U.S. shores. Most notable was the company’s water-cooling technology for notebooks, currently on the Japan-only Lifebook N7010.

Check out the way it pipes the water in and disperses heat so that the fan isn’t overloaded. The guy in charge of this arm of Fujitsu, who I had the pleasure of chatting with, said it’s to reduce the noise an overworked fan makes, because according to him, Japanese consumers have much less patience when it comes to noisy technology. His challenge is to see if the American market would actually want and pay for this kind of tech.
Pretty cool, huh?
