TomTom debuts 5" XXL 530S, 540S GPS navigation devices

TomTom on Monday announced the XXL 530S and XXL 540S GPS navigation devices with extra-large five-inch displays.

Positioned as premium devices, the XXL 530S and XXL 540S include TomTom’s IQ Routes technology for faster, more efficient directions based on historical speed measurements for every time of day and for every road segment.

Both new XXL devices come with:

  • Full maps of the US and Canada
  • TomTom Map Share technology, so users can modify street names, street direction, points of interest and more on their device and benefit from corrections made by others
  • TomTom Help Me menu for access to local emergency service providers (police, fire, etc.)
  • Fold and Go EasyPort mount that folds flat against the device for easty transport
  • TomTom HOME, a desktop application that keeps the devices up-to-date

The XXL 540S model also includes:

  • Advanced Lane Guidanc
  • Preloaded maps of Mexico, the U.S. and Canada
  • Seven million points of interest
  • Sleek black finish

Availability and Pricing

Both XXL devices will be available in October in the U.S. and Canada. The XXL 530S will sell for $279.95 and the XXL 540S will retail for $299.95.
