LaCie on Wednesday updated its Network Space 2 network-attached storage device with integrated torrent support, wake-on LAN power management and an estimated $160 price tag.

Like its predecessor, the Network Space 2 can function simply as an external drive over USB or as a full-blown NAS with UPnP and DLNA ((Xbox 360, Playstation 3) and iTunes media streaming support. The LaCie Network Assistant acts as a widget-based dashboard to control functionality.

It manages speeds of up to 65MB/s over Ethernet and sports a USB 2.0 host connection out front for easy connection of a flash drive, external hard drive or digital camera.

The Neil Poulton-designed exterior — mirror-polished black finish with a glowing blue LED strip — remains the same.

Storage capacity remains 1TB, sans RAID. It supports PC and Mac, and will probably sell for about $160.
