CNET’s Michael Kanellos today blogs about companies developing tech to produce synthetic petroleum. Industrial microbiology.

One such company is start-up LS9. Kanellos tells us the firm intends to exploit “the properties of naturally occurring or genetically enhanced organisms.” And this week LS9’s presenting a paper on their technology. Don’t expect all to be revealed.
