Go, Carts, Go! Trumps "drill, baby, drill."
Even in oil country folks are turning to electric golf carts for transport. Like in Hobart, Oklahoma. The annual fee: $10. How long before Exxon goes to court to stop this madness?
City after city the local laws are being alterd to allow electric, plug-in golf carts onto town streets. Whenever you put a human in control, stuff happens. Down in West Palm Beach, Florida, a woman drove her car into a golf cart carrying two security guards. Winter Garden in Florida has just moved to allow golf carts onto some streets.
Put in southern California golf carts are getting more popular politically: Solana Beach just made them legal on some streets there starting in February. Jurisidictions already allowing at least some golf cart use: Escondido, San Diego city and San Diego County.

If this gets any more serious, we’ll be hearing some new acronyms. Sorry, that’s just the way we Americans talk. Like “PTV.” Here’s a link that will alert to the differencces between a “golf cart” and a “golf car,” acording to the industry purists. And here’s yet another acronym: NEV. Also this site says the little electric carts started out as industrial vehicles and were used by disabled. Then onto the golf courses, now full circle back onto the streets.
