The un-green machine (or, hey honey, time to ditch the Harley)
Actually, my husband DOESN’T own a Harley-Davidson model of any sort, his tastes run to his American Ironhorse Slammer chopper and the Suzuki Intruder chopper-clone-in-waiting as back-up when the engine on the big one goes awry (or he actually wants to take me for a ride). But I got a big kick out of this article in Wired about the greening of motorcycles.
Sure, on the surface, motorcycles are more fuel-efficient. But, those emissions! Not so good for the environment, apparently. But enviro-bikers need not despair! This is a pointer for anyone of a certain age who has recently invested in a motorcycle OR is thinking about it OR who is a motorcycle widow like me. There are apparently two companies, Zero Motorcycles and Brammo, leading the way in the development of electric motorcycles.
