You against the green IT world. Do your practices stand up against the best?
For those of you whose favorite “F” word these days is “free,” asset disposition company Redemtech is touting a new online tool that will let your team run a Sustainable Computing Assessment for your company. OK, in this case, the term “free” is relative. The tool in question is sponsored by a green media company, so the intention probably is to collect as much information as possible
The assessment tool lets you analyze how your company’s green IT strategies compare with best practices for the following:
- Extending equipment lifecycles (Look here for a case study on an unnamed Redemtech client that saved $9.2 million in two years.)
- Refurbishing and upgrading “surplus” equipment
- Running a responsible recycling program
Redemtech figures that it will take the average company about 15 minutes to complete the survey assessment. In exchange, they will receive scores that rate their green IT productivity, reuse, accountability and energy strategy.
