IBM consulting aims to aid with carbon conundrum (yes, another service)
IBM’s green business consulting group is at it again. This time, they’re launching what is being positioned as the company’s Strategic Carbon Management Offering. The service is focused on helping companies develop a corporate-wide plan for managing and reducing carbon emissions. It focuses on all the different things that could impact such a strategy: business travel, transportation systems, data centers and IT operations, research and development activities, manufacturing and distribution, office space for knowledge workers, retail space and so on.
Sounds like a lot to bite off, frankly. That’s probably the point: Right now, many corporate carbon emissions control efforts are very piecemeal, and they don’t necessarily take into account what other divisions might be doing.
If you want a sample of the sorts of things you’d be expected to consider through this service, click on this link.
