Green messaging here: New twist to digital signage, solar billboards

The image you see above is created with reflective technology from magink, which makes what it calls high-resolution digital posters. The technology is being tested by digital billboard technology company Lamar Outdoor Advertising, which operates more than 1,000 billboards using LED technology to display its images. The magink technology offers a low-powered option that can be used where there are light restrictions or environmental concerns.

Here’s what the billboard looks like at night.

The companies are testing the technology in Pensacola, Fla. Lamar also will conduct a trial under winter conditions in New York City.
