Young generation greening the nitty-gritty of government
What do you call it when a younger generation refuses to accept the false assumptions of the “wise” elders? Today’s there the story of a young worker at the rejuvenated EPA. She was taught the old wheeze in university: the one that says you can have a healthy economy, or a healthy environment. Pick one. She saw through that as a cover for out-moded tech and out-dated thinking.
So now she’s working away at getting better, safe refrigerants into General Motors’ cars so they are both more efficient and greener. Her name is Kristen Taddonio and you can search on the Washington Post site for the story, but you have to be a registered user to access it.
She’s 26 and thinks she can make a difference. Didn’t get the anti-government injecton that came with gorwing up in the 1970s and 1980s. Wow, could this be a sign of actual progressive thinking at work in America?
