Boston-based Boston Power will provide Sonata lithium-ion batteries for some new HP laptops. And those batteries will be made in Taiwan, by GP Batteries. An earlier ZDNet blog looked at the promises for high efficiency and a three-year life on these new batteries which Hp will call “Enviro.”
Here’s my co-blogger’s take on the battery.
Here’s Boston Power’s home page. They promise a battery that is ultra-safe and can recharge to 80% capacity in a half hour. There will be a minor upcharge for the Sonata battery on HP products.
