Click here for the ZDNet photo gallery of Tesla new “mid-priced sedan.” It’s the Model 3, launched today. It will sell for around $50K, compared to over $100K for their first, luxury model. Still Tesla faces a steep climb against mass-produced hybrids. Honda’s Insight now sells for less than $25K and is far smaller, making it a better town car for short commutes. You could get a Prius for less than $30K.

This Tesla promises 300 miles per charge so it’s still not a long-distance vehicle like my old beater. Here’s the official Tesla Motors website but it’s verrrrry show this Friday due to heavy traffic, I presume.
