I recently blogged about a U.S. government report on energy resources on offshore energy sources. Currently the Interior Department is holding public hearings on the next steps toward exploiting those resources, from wind to oil. And in Virginia there’s a business and political coalition saying, “Drill, baby, drill.”

The Southeast Energy Alliance is promoting oil and natural has drilling allong gthe Atlantic continental shelf. SEA says it will yield five billions dollars of revenue for the Virgnia Commonwealth alone. That’s a lot of common wealth. SEA has a website that is hosted by the Virginia Manufacturers Association.

Several state pols are in favor of the drilling–they see tax revenjues and more jobs for Virginians.
