UPDATED: HolidayLEDs celebrates Christmas on Earth Day
Update: Apparently you and I managed to crash the HolidayLEDs.com site this morning. Congratulations! That means no lights have been given away. SO we’ll try again at noon Eastern. If you’re still interested and haven’t been too frustrated by the outage, go visit HolidayLEDs.com at Noon Eastern time (a half-hour after this updated post goes live) and you could receive a free set of solar-powered LED holiday lights.
If you’re one of the first 60 visitors to the Web site at noon, you’ll get a 200-light strand that operates off a mini solar panel and normally retails for about $49.99. You’ll have to pay $7.99 for the shipping. If you don’t wind up getting one of the free strands and you’re thinking ahead to December, the company is offering a 25 percent discount on all of its LED lighting products right now.
ALSO, you’ll have a one-week window to participate in HolidayLEDs holiday-lighting recycling program, which it normally runs from October to February. Starting on Earth Day, the company will re-open the program for a week through April 29, 2009. If you send in your old lights, you’ll get a coupon worth 15 percent off HolidayLEDs.com LED Christmas lights.
