Nexsan: Turn on the "green" feature in our MAID product and save some green
For those of you who love a deal, any deal, storage vendor Nexsan is running a promotion for customers that test out its AutoMAID feature for at least 30 days. AutoMAID stands for Automatic Massive Array of Idle Disks. The technology will place disk drives into them most energy-efficient state possible, given their present level of activity. Depending on what a particular drive is used for (near-term storage vs. long-term storage), an administrator can pick the appropriate settings.
The “Get Your Green On” covers new SATABeast, SATABoy, SASBeast and SASBoy purchases. If you turn on the AutoMAID feature for at least 30 days, you are eligible for free drives. You have to send in the system logs by Sept. 30 in order to qualify. The number of drives you will receive depends on the product, and they must be the same capacity as the existing drives you buy with the product. AND the promotion is good only on products purchased by June 15, 2009 and shipped by June 30, 2009.
