Shai no longer shy about green-tech battery venture
Haven’t had a chance to talk to this company myself, but thought it was worth pointing out this post from Michael Kanellos on CNET News.com about a new green car venture called Project Better Place.
What’s got Silicon Valley all atwitter is partly who’s at the helm: former SAP executive Shai Agassi, who apparently started thinking about the problem a couple years ago and was inspired actually to do something about it by Israel’s prime minister Shimon Peres.
I’m actually intrigued for what the venture (which has snagged $200 million in private backing) is hoping to do: Set up service stations where you can swap out a discharged electric car battery, pick up a new one and be on your merry way. Something else to keep tabs on….
