Get your green on: Run a quick test of your PC's settings with online services
Want to test your home PC to see if it’s using the best power settings?
Several of the bigger security and patch management software vendors are offering online services to do this quickly, including Symantec, which charges about $20 for its GreenPC option.
If you want to take a risk on a lesser-known vendor, Comodo Security Solutions is currently offering a free 30-day trial of its livePCsupport service, which also includes a Green PC assessment and optimization option. The link to the trial is off the main link.
And iYogi charges $10 to have a technician set up your power profile using its Green PC offering.
